2024 VT Maple Open House Weekend in the Northeast Kingdom

Vermont leads the nation in maple syrup production, reporting over 2 million gallons of pure VT maple syrup produced in 2023. Cold nights and warm days are the ideal weather conditions to get sap flowing from maple trees. Syrup season is already underway here in Vermont, and it’s looking like another great year.

Tap into the sweetest time of year and plan a trip to experience Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom during  Maple Open House Weekend , March 23 + 24. Check out our list below of celebrations taking place throughout the Kingdom.

Eastern Trek

17 th  Lunenburg Maple Festival (Lunenburg) – Saturday 8 AM – 3 PM
Visit Lunenburg to celebrate maple sugaring heritage. All the favorite activities will continue this year, spread out among three locations. Start your morning at the pancake breakfast before heading to one of the many hands-on learning opportunities.

Firefly Farm at Burke Hollow   (West Burke) – Saturday 1 PM – 4 PM
Taste syrup while it’s still warm at Firefly Farm! Chat with the sugar makers, enjoy a donut or pickle with your syrup, and shop for their maple products.  

Three Peaks Maple   (Newark) – Saturday and Sunday 8 AM – 2 PM
In their 8 th year of operation, Three Peaks Maple taps 60,000 trees in their 1000-acre sugarbush. Visit them to tour their sugarhouse, enjoy refreshments, and purchase some of their certified organic maple syrup.

goodwin family mapleGoodwin Family Maple  (St. Johnsbury) – Saturday and Sunday 9 AM – 3 PM
Head to Goodwin Family Maple for a unique Maple Open House experience. See how their pure maple products are made, enjoy free sugar on snow and syrup samples with their full product line and maple cotton candy available for sale. On Saturday, visit with the oxen on view. Then, on Sunday, meet and greet the mini horses and cows.

Burke Mt Maple Company  (East Burke) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 3 PM
Burke Mountain Maple is a family owned and operated maple farm. Plan a trip during Maple Open House Weekend to enjoy sugar on snow, fresh donuts, free maple samples, and tours of the sugaring operation.

  Erik’s Sugarbush   (East Burke) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 3 PM
Visit Erik’s Sugarbush for an array of classic maple treats: donuts, sugar on snow, maple popcorn, coated nuts, and more! They tap over 2,000 trees to create quality, award winning maple syrup.

April’s Maple is a year-round hot spot for pure VT maple. Visit their café where you can enjoy many maple-infused breakfast and lunch dishes. Shop their store for maple goodies and VT-made specialty products. During Open House Weekend, April’s Maple will be giving sugarhouse tours, offering product tastings as well as offering kids activities.

Deer Ridge Maple  (Derby) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM
Savor sugar on snow and fresh maple products at Deer Ridge Maple, located just off Route 5 between Derby and Derby Line. Tour the sugarhouse, learn about tapping a tree, and check out the maple tree that’s inside their sugarhouse!

Jed’s Maple Products  (Derby) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM
Bring the whole family and celebrate spring at Jed’s Maple! Enjoy children’s activities, free sugar on snow, wood-fired maple pizza, maple food samplings, and more. Their gift shop will be open, where visitors can stock up on maple products and specialty baked goods.

Farm & Field

Visit Pure Gold Sugaring as they share their traditions, treats, and pure maple syrup with families and friends of all ages. Tour the sugarhouses and listen to generations of sugarmakers share their stories and histories of VT maple. Enjoy fresh samples of 2024 crop, donuts, and sugar on snow.

Fradette’s Maple Syrup  (East Hardwick) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 3 PM
Stop by for a tour of Fradette’s Maple Syrup during Open House Weekend. Tour the operations and walk the sugar woods, sample fresh crop, sugar on snow, and other maple treats.

Cary & Main Co.  (Danville) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 5 PM
Come visit George “The Maple King” Cary’s Original Sugarbush in Danville! In homage to the local lore and legend, Cary & Main Co have challenged themselves to create Kosher & Halal Vermont syrup. Taste some yourself during their open house and wander to George Cary’s original century-old Danville Sugarhouse – bring a pair of snowshoes if there’s snow!

Mountain & Lake Getaway

Stop into Couture’s Sugarhouse to see them boil (weather permitting) or shop their store for a variety of maple products! Get a taste of this year’s syrup or tour their B&B that’s open year-round.

Mike & Terry Couture  (Westfield) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM
Join Mike & Terry Couture for Maple Open House Weekend! They will be offering free sugar on snow, maple donuts, dill pickles, and other goodies to sample.

Green Valley Maple  (Holland) – Saturday and Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM
Take a tour, meet the sugaring team, and taste some Vermont maple syrup!
